Wii Power Consumption

The NIntendo Wii uses a tiny amount of power compared to other consoles.  It has been recorded that on average the Nintendo Wiis power consumption is around 17.5 Watts when playing games and 13.5 watts when on and idle.  Generally when compared to the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 (both of which use around 180 watts of power when playing games) the nintendo wii is not only environmentally friendly but will cost you less to play!

Wii - Connect24 - Warning!

The Connect24 service is an always on service that downloads updates to your Wii when its on standby - however this actually means your Wii is drawing around 9 watts of power even when in standy.  If you really want to help the environment - turn this feature off in your settings and the Wii will consume around a watt per hour - much greener.
