Nintendo Wii Memory Cards
The Nintendo Wii takes standard 1gb or 2gb SD (Secure Digital) memory cards (such as used in many digital cameras) which makes it a great low cost way of storing your files and photos. The Wii browser also has a built in function to view pictures from your SD memory card.
Is there a limit on the maximum sd memory size of the Wii?
The WIi accepts SD (or mini SD / Micro SD using an adaptor) up to 2GB in size. It does not support SDHC cards. The Wii can read from SD memory at up to 20mb/s and write at 6.7mb/s so check your SD memory is at least as fast as this when purchasing.
Can I use SDHC memory?
No the memory must be standard SD not SDHC (High Capacity)
Where can I buy Wii Compatible Memory?
Generally any SD memory card will work however we recommend sticking with well known manufacturers such as Sandisk and Kingston. See below for some suggestions on where to buy. Cheapest is not neccessarily better and we recommend looknig for high quality high speed cards.
